The tour continues with a visit to La Camel (GL4/Z), the oldest LNG complex.
La Camel (GL4/Z) was the fi rst LNG plant in the world, built in 1964 by the
consortium Technip & Pitchard International Corporation. The plant covers an
area of 73 hectares and treats 1.7 billion m³ of natural gas. It is made up of: 3
liquefaction plants, 3 LNG ferries of 1100m³ each, 3 butane storage units, each
220m³ and 2 ethylene storage spheres of 670m³ and 1100m³. Delegates will also
have the chance to visit the GL1/Z and GL2/Z complexes which each cover 72
hectares and are made up of 6 liquefaction trains each.
The Largest LPG Separation Complex, GP1Z
The tour will then lead participants to the largest LPG separation complex in the
world, GP1Z. Covering an area of 120 hectares it was built by the consortium
IHI-Itochu and the fi rst phase was put into production in December 1983. Finally,
delegates will be shown the location of the future LNG plant GL3/Z. The contract
