Sonatrach, the first gas company in the Mediterranean region and a pioneer in LNG industry, is still developing owing to its partnership policy designed to consolidate its position in the international gas market.

Sonatrach operates an important gas pipeline networks supplying domestic consumers centers, liquefaction plants, and international customers.This transportation network is characterized by its flexibility, reliability, proximity to the European market and competitiveness.

Through the implantation of its partnership policy, Sonatrach was able to strengthen its fleet with the acquisition of new methane carriers in order to reach remote markets.

Sonatrach’s natural gas export target set to 85 billion cm/year by 2010 is in line with its strategy aimed at penetrating the European gas downstream in France, Italy and the Iberian peninsula.

Sonatrach is already operating in the Isle of grain, Reganosa and Montoir de BRETAGNE regasification terminals in Europe and more recently in Cove point terminal in the USA.
